This commitment extends to tribes, communities facing environmental justice challenges, and rural areas.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-53e916c4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"53e916c4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Betting on the IRA Law<\/h4>\n<p><strong>The Office of Energy and Climate Change<\/strong> in <strong>Dane<\/strong>, the first county in <strong>Wisconsin <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and fourth in the U.S. to achieve the milestone of using 100% renewable energy for its electricity, is betting on the IRA law to further expand its clean energy initiatives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Wisconsin, the legislation will also introduce new incentives for building electrification, contributing to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, grants will be available to assist state and local governments in adopting the latest building energy codes, offering potential savings of 2.6% on utility bills for the average homeowner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Job creation is another significant advantage for the state. As of 2021, the clean energy sector already employed 71, 370 workers, and officials anticipate that the IRA will further amplify these opportunities through a $4 billion investment in large-scale clean energy generation and storage until 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The expansion is poised to yield additional employment in solar, wind, storage and various other clean energy industries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wisconsin serves as just one example of the widespread positive impacts of the IRA across the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jessica Ord\u00f3\u00f1ez-Lancet<\/strong>, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Executive Director of Climate Power, emphasized the law\u2019s significant contribution to boosting the U.S. clean energy industry. Ord\u00f3\u00f1ez-Lancet shared these details in an interview with <\/span><strong>Huella Zero<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Of those new clean energy jobs more than 11,000 were created in communities of color. Photo: Shutterstock.<\/p><\/figcaption>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c7e9496 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c7e9496\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This figure has risen to over 210,000 new jobs across 45 states and <strong>Puerto Rico<\/strong>, according to a November publication by<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/climatepower.us\/\"><strong>Climate Power<\/strong><\/a>, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an independent strategic communications group dedicated to fostering political will and public support for climate action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report, released on November 1, 2023, states that companies have either added or announced 40,000 new jobs, accompanied by a total investment of $32.62 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;We&#8217;re seeing significant, very high numbers. In just one year since this law was passed we have plenty of jobs and manufacturing coming back to the U.S., construction and manufacturing spending is at its highest point in the last 60 years, and community projects have grown dramatically since they passed this law,&#8221;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ordonez-Lancet said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are 91 new electric car battery manufacturing sites spread across <strong>Tucson, Rochester<\/strong>, and <strong>South Carolina<\/strong>, along with 65 new or expanded electric car manufacturing facilities in <strong>Savannah, Georgia<\/strong>; <strong>Montgomery, Alabama<\/strong>; and <strong>Auburn Hills, Michigan<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, 84 companies have outlined plans to develop wind and solar energy projects in cities such as <strong>Cochranton, Pennsylvania<\/strong>;<strong> Pensacola, Florida<\/strong>; and<strong> Georgetown, Texas.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-44ebd92 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"44ebd92\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to environmental activists, average overall wages in the clean energy sector are 8 to 19 percent higher than the minimum wage in other sectors nationwide.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In rural sectors, the law aims to support farmers in maintaining their farms, providing assistance, and encouraging &#8220;climate-smart agriculture&#8221; by enhancing access to conservation funds, as outlined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture&#8217;s Farmers.gov.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The government agency has allocated approximately $1.1 billion in financial assistance to farmers struggling to catch up on their loans.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1753981 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"1753981\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<figure class=\"wp-caption\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/huella-zero.org\/serie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/sustainable-energy-campaign-tree-light-bulb-media-remix.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-2070\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/huella-zero.org\/serie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/sustainable-energy-campaign-tree-light-bulb-media-remix.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/huella-zero.org\/serie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/sustainable-energy-campaign-tree-light-bulb-media-remix-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/huella-zero.org\/serie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/sustainable-energy-campaign-tree-light-bulb-media-remix-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<figcaption class=\"widget-image-caption wp-caption-text\">photo: Freepik.<\/figcaption>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9d3c508 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9d3c508\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the recipients is Jimmy Stevens, the proprietor of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmers.gov\/blog\/inflation-reduction-act-in-action-farm-loans-harvesting-resilience-redemption-story-north\">Stevens Produce and Grains in Whiteville<\/a>, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">North Carolina. Facing the imminent threat of losing his business, Jimmy managed to stabilize if with the assistance provided.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cJimmy was at risk of losing his operations due to several unprecedented challenges, including business disruptions, a global pandemic, continued impacts to input costs and markets, and more frequent and intense weather-induced natural disasters\u2019, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said Farmers.gov.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4><strong>More Investments and Jobs<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An analysis conducted by <strong>Bank of America<\/strong>, the IRA is set to have its most significant impact in 2024 and 2025, driving substantial investments and facilitating job creation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From electric vehicles and batteries, to renewable energy projects and health care, the IRA is expected to play a vital role in spurring investment and creating jobs. In fact, more than 86,000 jobs could be created from the projects announced so far,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; the financial institution projected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One example is <strong>Toyota<\/strong>, which is making a substantial investment of $3.8 billion in its North Carolina facility to enhance its manufacturing capabilities for a more efficient and environmentally friendly battery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the economic impact, Ord\u00f3\u00f1ez-Lancet pointed out a noteworthy achievement of the IRA &#8211; the reduction in costs associated with clean energy.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3dc3482 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"3dc3482\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<figure class=\"wp-caption\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"977\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/huella-zero.org\/serie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/autoE.png\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-1729\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/huella-zero.org\/serie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/autoE.png 977w, https:\/\/huella-zero.org\/serie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/autoE-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/huella-zero.org\/serie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/autoE-768x511.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 977px) 100vw, 977px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<figcaption class=\"widget-image-caption wp-caption-text\">photo: Shutterstock.<\/figcaption>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f2120da elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f2120da\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The costs of wind and solar energy have decreased by 54% and 37%, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;That is to say that the costs of using these energies are now cheaper than coal, oil, or methane gas, which are \u2018dirty energies\u2019 as they are popularly known,&#8221; she said<\/span><\/i>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the first half of 2023, solar energy accounted for a substantial share, representing 45% of all newly added electricity generation capacity to the U.S. grid, as reported by the<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.seia.org\/#:~:text=SEIA%20%7C%20Solar%20Energy%20Industries%20Association\"><strong>Solar Energy Industries Association<\/strong> (SEIA). <\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notably, SEIA highlighted that within the year following the enactment of the IRA, solar module manufacturers have announced approximately three dozen capacity additions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If these initiatives come to fruition, the United States, including Puerto Rico, is poised to experience a remarkable surge in total module manufacturing capacity by 2026. and<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenfacts.org\/es\/captura-almacenamiento-co2\/l-2\/1-secuestro-carbono.htm\">carbon <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sequestration<\/span> (CCS)<\/a>, <span
